Pultrusion Process

Pultrusion process is a mechanized process of FRP composite, involves pulling a collection of fiber in the form of roving mat or fabric through a resin batch and then through a heated die to cure the resin and then take shapes of profiles.

Pultrusion Profiles

Pultrusion profilePultrusion profile is a kind of compound materials which is formed by taking fiberglass as the reinforced material, and taking thermosetting resin as base, the fiberglass continuous roving enable the product to have the extremely high longitudinal strength, the fiberglass mat (continuous strand mat, knitted mat and so on) makes the product have the good transverse strength. The thermosetting resin base is usually the unsaturated polyster resin, the vinyl resin, ot the epoxy resin and the phenolic resin, the resin base enable the product to have the good anti-corrosion property, the different resin enable the product to be suitable for various corrosion environment, to add the ultraviolet inhibitor and fire retardant may enable the product to have the outstanding anti-aging property and the different rank anti-inflammable property. Add the nexus mat on the product surface could make it obtain best corrosion-resistance and anti-ageing properties. The fiberglass contecnt in pultrusion profile is usually 45%-75% (weight ratio), the balance is resin and additive. Unsaturated polyester resin and vinyl resin are the most commonly used resin base.

FRP Pultruded Grating

frp pultruded gratingPultruded grating is made by a particular assembly process, which using “I” shape as its main load-bearing and special rod to go through the bearing bar. Pultruded grating include the standard grating and the custom grating, the customer grating can be designed to meet customer’s requirement or special using condition by changing the shape, size and space of the bearing bars, the surface can be covered with lozenge panel, grit panel, or added the anti-slippery sand directly. FRP pultruded grating has the most characteristics of molded grating, but it has its distinct advantages, it has very high fiberglass content in the loading direction, so it has very high load capability, it has more superiority when used at wide span, so that the basic support will be decreased and the project cost will be reduce accordingly.


The standard space between two crossbars is 6 inch or 12 inch.

FRP tanks and vessels can be largely used in many areas of the light industry, petroleum, chemical, food brewing, transportation and so on. Such product can resist the corrosion of various acids, alkalis and salts.

Chemical Resistance

Resistance to corrosion in aggressive environments is one the primary reasons for specifying GRP tanks. These resists a wide range of chemicals and temperatures and can be built to provide additional abrasion, weathering and fire resistance. The chemical resistance of GEP tank depends primarily on the resin/glass matrix used. Other factors can affect laminate resistance including liner construction, cure and fabrication methodology and installation techniques.

General corrosion, galvanic, aerobic, pitting, dezincification, graphic and intergranular corrosion harm metals but no GRP.
